About CLIFFS and their offering.

The Public offering is worth $400 MILLION.

Cliffs expects to close the offering on March 17, 2010.

Whats the hurry ?????

Cliffs states that the offering is to be used for one of the following:

The net proceeds from the issuance of the Senior Notes are expected to be used for general corporate purposes, which may include, among other things, the funding of certain capital expenditures, the repayment of all or a portion of the Company's term loan under its credit facility, the repayment of all or a portion of its share of other debt obligations, and the funding of other strategic transactions.

Standerd BLA BLA BLA.....

My guess is the latter....and the funding of other strategic transactions.

I was told that there will be other mergers or acquisitions prior to this summer.

Now that the CAT has been let out of the bag, Government involvement, plus all of the news media.

I believe that this may push CLIFFS timetable up sooner.

Lets hope.
