First Explorer at the "Ring of Fire" and presently drilling on the "BIG DADDY" Chromite/Pge's jv'd property...yet we were robbed
Hey Lethal: I'm glad you made note of that point. It really irks me that as Canadians our big corporations and especially financial institutes are very hesitant to invest in anything Canadian. It seems to me that we are always running around looking for investment opportunities outside of our great country. The banks have investments in mining operations all over the world and in high risk areas that don't really meet the due diligence requirements of a conservative Cdn institute. So IMO as I see it; it is sad that we are quickly moving towards being a colony again; whether its oil, NG, Gold, hydro, water, timber, fish or any other of our resources...200 years ago it was for the British empire ...now it is for anyone who shows us the green. I really want to see the ROF be responsible for in part developing that part of northern Ontario. I think it would bring us back to being a "have" province where we are currently on the "have not" list. The potenial to develop the north and make it a long term sustainable development should be IMO a high priority for the Ont gov't as well as the feds. Let's cross our fingers that our gov'ts and big industry can see the potential in their own backyard.
Between CNR and Ontario Northland Railway with gov't assitance they could build the railway required.
MTO and a conglomeration of some of the largest road builders in the country could build the road access as well as the airport(s) .
Canadian engineering firms could perform all the required environmental assessments, infastructure design and implementation, and provide the clean water systems that are desparately needed by the FN's of the region without a doubt.
Canadian banks who were touted as the best in the world during the recent recession could step up to help finance all of the above.
Ontarion hydro or what is left of it could step up as well, in the construction of the required hydro stations to support the entire development.
There is so much we could do as a province and a nation but I am convinced that it will be foreign investment to aquire the mining rights and smelter that will inevitably pay for it and prosper from it. Just my opinion.
