Message: Toronto Star ROF article today

Good post Topdog...it seems the article is dirrected at the liberal readership of the south. It is however accurate in a few issues:

  1. the necessry infastructure needs to be in place first; this takes time.
  2. the FN's desparately need help and the blockade has given them something of a bargaining tool
  3. Ontario gov't is in it up to their armpits (but will they do the proper thing)
  4. Environmental Impact studies for the railway, roads, airport and any other infastructure also take time
  5. the entire process needs large sums of money...and where will that all come from...foreign investment no doubt...(we've become a colont again).
  6. Th FN's will (IMO) use the water boiling warning to obtain clean water and approriate sewage disposal for their communities.

In addition and not mentioned in this article is the time and agreements necessary for the mining companies (once the estimated resource is quantified) to get equipment in there to start dewatering for a test pit in the BD. Then there will be the mining permits, water taking permits, etc, etc

If a mine is to be developed we will need a mill, and transport out to a smelter as well.

If the Ontario govt doesn't take the bull by the horns and push through the infastructure this could take a decade before we see the CrO2 out of the ground.

I just hope the gov't does the right thing...

A lot a factors need to fall into place before we see a mine.
