Good post, SRV. "just the facts please".
A couple of points that I would like to add as we are comparing this proposal to the one presented to us back in 08;
There was really no effect on the SP that could be attributed to the 1 for 10 proposal back then. Is that because it was defeated? What effect would there have been if it had carried successfully?
It was widely speculated at the time that the purpose of the amalgamation was to facilitate a takeover by Noront. If that is true, is there some 'behind the scene' action in motion that requires it now?
If there was such a great reaction to the proposal back then, why try it again now, unless the persons in control have a great confidence that things are different? I have speculated here that there is a good bit of accumulation going on. It has been low key, with just a couple of million average traded each day, but one group could easily have picked up anywhere from 15-30 percent of outstanding shares over the last couple of months. If management was aware of it and supported it for whatever reason, they could now be confident enough of the outcome to proceed as they are.
Regardless of the above, each and every one of us should take heed of the fact that things are happening. When things are happening in the present climate conditions there is going to be Sp action. When there is SP action there is the opportunity to make a dollar or two if we pay close attention to events.
Best regards
