If the special resolution for consolidation to be presented at the AGM has been set at 10:1, I don't think it can be reset. I have asked this question of Investor Cubed, and I will ask the same of Neil Novak when I chat with him directly.
You're making an assumption that Spider Resources will get a bid in the near future. I am not. IMHO, I don't think one's coming any time soon. Why would Cliffs bid when there are no other obvious large miners interested in the ROF chromite? They've got their investment, and will wait for any future negotiations with the Ontario Government and the First Nations.
Unless I'm mistaken, reverse splits are 'revenue neutral' - no one loses money, no one makes money. To my way of thinking, it can't provide any 'dollar value'. The 'value' you are talking about is another type of value. Perhaps 'emotional value' - that I can only guess at.
I have argued before that the 'status quo' is not working. But many investors want it to stay exactly that way.
Fortune favors the brave. Investing in highly speculative stocks is not for the timid. Then again, maybe I'm just stupid.
All IMHO
