JD has had a long and tumultuous relationship with SPQ and the BOD. IMHO he was not "had", he just didn't listen. I can't back that up, but I have met the man personally and I have some idea how he operates. He's not a bad guy; he just has some very interesting ways of going about his business.
He writes:
"Don't know if it all his ideas or the BOD..."
Neil and the BOD are one on all matters related to not only the upcoming AGM but also on the future of Spider Resources. Neil related this tidbit the other day on the reverse split discussion that one of the Board members in jest said "Why not 20:1?"
My point here again is that Neil and the BOD are really concerned about optics of Spider Resources as a penny stock. Moreover, if the r/s special resolution passes they will only use the r/s if necessary.
Another point here is (and Neil mentioned this to me) is that he and the BOD have no idea who is buying and selling SPQ shares. Cliffs may be accumulating, and then again, maybe not. He thinks that daytraders are having lots of fun, but he can't back that up either. He feels that if 50 million shares were being traded in a day, then there might be something interesting happening - but he still wouldn't know any more than you or me. Anything under 10 million shares traded in a day is "mice nuts" (my words).
My point here (2) is that Neil and the BOD of SPQ are managing a company. They're also trying to make a decent buck on their shares. They are no different that the regular guy/gal buying and selling shares. They are not privvy to any special information other than the technical data coming out of Big Daddy.
I have to mention once again that Neil and the BOD are concerned about Cliffs, and a hostile takeover. And rightly so. And by the way, no matter how much pontification, self-congratulation, and table-banging by JD will change what is going to happen in the future. IMHO he would be the wrong guy to consult at any time on this matter. But that's just my humble opinion once again. If you think I'm full of BS, send me a PM and I will give you another reference.
Finally, there's the matter of the upcoming AGM. I would like to strongly suggest that as many people attend as possible. You will have the chance to listen to Neil and the BOD and to discuss the future of Spider Resources. JD will be there. He will need a counter-weight. My observations are that he's quite capable of trying to commandeer proceedings. I've personally seen it happen. Once again, he's not a bad guy; he just has a different way of operating.
All IMHO.
