First Explorer at the "Ring of Fire" and presently drilling on the "BIG DADDY" Chromite/Pge's jv'd property...yet we were robbed
The second I got wind of Cliffs "intent" to purchase both or either SPQ and KWG I went on the Cliffs website and requested an information package from the company.
I received the package yesterday via UPS Wordwide.
It was 2 lbs of info on the company. It contained their last 17 News Releases, a cover letter, Investor snapshot sheets, 104 page shareholders booklet, and a 180 page Annual report. My 15 year old daughter commented that they should have just sent me a tree and get it over with. I guess I did request it.
Of course the first thing I did was go straight to the News Release from May 24th where they announced their intent to purchase, acquire, take-over, SPQ and KWG.
I deal with double talk all the time and am more than aware of what they are trying to achieve in their News Release. In my opinion (I have to say that) they have conveniently avoided the complete facts, pretending they don't know more, and they put half truths and misleading information out there for the uninformed to digest and accept. Are they technically lying ? No, they are just picking and choosing the facts that best serve their purpose while ignoring the facts that would hinder their argument to try and purchase the 2 companies for .13 ยข.
In the News Release they also claim that their offer is more than fair and that "Freewest's assets were indisputably superior to the combined holdings of KWG and Spider". That's the kind of stuff I am talking about. Sure, after they purchased FWR and announced how much they stole it for. So if you read through the mumbo jumbo, what they are really saying that it makes sense to also steal these 2 companies in the same garage sale manner. See I can do the double speak too ! Comparing FWR to SPQ/KWG should be based on actual worth, not what they purchased it for. 2 completely different animals.
There are other things in that News Release that mislead, this is just an example.
What I'm really trying to say here is, everyone,... please don't buy into the notion that we aren't worth nearly what we know we are, it's just some very cleverly worded legalese to throw off the weak minded, frightened investor. And to Cliffs credit, they know that there are a lot of them out there.
I'll post this on the KWG thread as well. (disclosure - I own SPQ, KWG, and BMK shares)
