I'm not too concerned about my KWG shares. Someone is going to come calling for the Rail road assets in due time. All they have to do is the minimum amount of work to satisfy keeping their land position open and the only thing the government or Cliffs could do is try and persuade them to speed things up. Likely by means of grants or low cost loans etc..
Remember with no rail connection ROF mining assets are worth nothing.
The NSR is a dream. It will ensure future cash flow. I hope they don't part with it for a fast buck.
At the end of the day KWG will either be bought out or someone will carry their capital costs for them and some form of offset will be charged against future production.
Frank showed us today that he is up to playing ball with Cliffs. This was a very important game changer today. It is a signal that KWG is not about to capitulate. I think you may even see Cliffs support the merger next week in order to regain control of the Rail road. The NSR would just be a bonus.
Just one scenario is for Cliffs to support the merger and make Spider a much enhanced offer, all the while buying shares in the market. Friday should give us some indication of their direction.
Or they could walk. No loss in my opinion and a real slap in the face to Cliffs. An admission of failure. This is likely the greatest motivator moving forward.
Either way no loss to us.
A year from now with or without diamonds these shares will shine. Cliffs and NOT etc will be banging on the door. The cost of an alternative route for the rail connection would be more than the cost of cementing this deal. So hang in there!
The next few days will be full of fireworks.
Personal opinion only, do your own DD.
