As you may expect, I have a counter argument. Hate to disagree with someone like Bill King, but these are unusual circumstances. True, the Russell 2000 has never doubled in 13 months, but it`s never been cut in half in 6 months either. All this `bubble` has done is recover most of what was lost during the crash. Furthermore, it took about twice as long to get back up from its fall - not unusual market action.

The other two occasions of an index doubling in short order came without a prior crash. I think the context of the prior crash is key. At the very least, I don`t think you can call something a bubble while it`s still below a previous high.
