Orbite shares halted on call for data
Bloomberg News · Nov. 30, 2011 | Last Updated: Nov. 30, 2011 3:10 AM ET
Shares of Orbite Aluminae Inc. were halted Tuesday in Toronto and the company postponed a conference call after Canadian stock regulators demanded more data on the economic assessment of its alumina project. The Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada's geologists require more details on the assessment of the Montreal-based company's planned alumina plant, Louis Morin, an Orbite spokesman, said in a telephone interview. "They have some trouble understanding some of the numbers," Mr. Morin said. "There's going to be another release'' of the assessment. Orbite soared 17% on Monday in Toronto. Some of today's trades made at 9: 30 a.m. were canceled. Mr. Morin said he didn't know when the company will release more information to IIROC or when the trading halt will be lifted. B
