Tonbridge Power Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TBZ) 100% controlling shareholder of Montana Alberta Tie Ltd. ("MATL"), a Canadian company developing a transmission line project to interconnect the electricity markets of Alberta and the United States through a 300 MW transmission line between Lethbridge, Alberta and Great Falls, Montana (the "MATL Project"), is please to announce that the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board,(EUB), has issued a conditional approval for MATL to construct and operate its proposed 230-kilovolt (kV) power line for the purpose of importing and exporting electricity.

This approval designates authority to proceed with route finalization within the preferred route along the approved corridor granted by the National Energy Board, (NEB), in its decision of April 2007. The process from which this decision resulted included a public hearing in Lethbridge held from October 31 to November 21, 2007 in which several affected stakeholders were able to present their evidence.

In order to comply with the conditional elements of this approval, and consequently receive its permit, MATL must comply with conditions set out in section 11 of the decision and report back to the EUB about this process by April 30, 2008. These conditions direct MATL to engage in further discussions with affected landowners along the approved route to address the mitigation of specific impacts. Once these conditions are met the EUB will issue MATL its final permit.

We anticipated many of these conditions, and are well prepared to comply with all of the conditions imposed by the EUB in short order. The Alberta energy regulators have made a very prudent decision in helping catalyze critical energy infrastructure that will support this province's electricity load growth for 50 plus years. We are very pleased with the open, fair and transparent manner in which the deliberations were held."
