I might not be in the middle of it, but today was a really ugly day out here too. Last October/November had a certain level of unreality for me. I actually couldn't believe it was that bad until going over the numbers in retrospect.

I'm really glad I don't have anything on margin. I'm glad I never bought any bank or insurance shares. (Three years ago I looked at them pretty seriously but stayed out because they seemed over valued, and because they bored me).

What I find so unusual about this situation is that a junior exploration company like Tyhee could be no more dangerous an investment than a household name like Citicorp, AIG, Ford, or Chrysler.

All the "safety of large cap investing" gone. I'm a gold bug, so it's not unusual that the only thing I can see right now is my pm stocks. They're still WAY above their November lows, and I don't think they'll get there this time.

Wish I had some money, because if what you are saying is true, there will be some buying opportunities this week.
