Go to that investor presentation in the due dilligence section of that link library button on the left of the home page of this forum. Slide 11 has a depth chart of Ormsby and shows that NDM 272, one of two very deep holes tyhee did to about 800metres, shows 3.4 and 4.2 gpt gold intercept at 750 or so meters.

It is extremelly expensive to drill this deep from the surface. Also, if the gold deposit is only a few hundred metres deep, then cutting throgh it at 800m or deeper is a lot of drilling for a short hit. Much more economical to drill from the stopes inside the underground workings, as the underground phase of the mine continues, following the gold deposit as you go. This, I think, is how it must be done.

But I agree with you that a few deep holes here and there, like NDM272, are worth doing, as they show that there is more potential at depth. It's just expensive. There is enough information to show that there is likely much gold at depth, and mine life expansion, just as at Con and Giant, will occur over time.
