I asked that question to Dave Webb this evening,
Hi Dave,
I was just wondering if you agree with one of our Forum's contributors today who said that, with regards to the forum discussing Ming Fung, "There is no way that we should be publicly suggesting specific prices or deal structures, as it will hurt his [your] ability to negotiate on our behalf rather than help."
Do you really think that what is said on the Agroacom's forum might hurt your ability to negotiate?
My best,
Baires
Dave said [I paraphrase],
I have no knowledge of whether or not these discussions help or hurt. However, I’d guess that if everyone said they were exasperated by the slow progress Tyhee was making, and they wanted a buyout at 25 cents per share, he’d have a difficult time negotiating a better price. Since chat rooms are not fully aware of corporate details until they are released, those Forum discussions aren’t taken that seriously.
To understand a company’s value you’d need to know what’s happening on the inside. Tyhee insiders have seen the results of the revised open pit mine at Ormsby, details on power and capital costs, competing proposals, what bankers have said to Tyhee.
None of this is available to the public until it is firm and final.
Thank you Dave.
Cheers,
Baires
