There is no issue regarding the long term. Your analysis is excellent IMO. It is the shorter term moves that Baires and I were discussing.

BTW, please pull up the following 2 charts and compare them:

$NDX from Aug 1994 to Feb 2000

$GOLD from Aug 2005 to present

Notice a striking similarity? If this plays out congruently, your 1300 measured move is way too conservative.
