Glenfidish,
This stock does not trade like any other stock...ups and downs have nothing to do with general market trends including POG. Therefore, I eliminate those as reaons for up and down days. You are dead right - it is very risky - (as are alot of the juniors). The 'miracle' that is needed to turn WTG around is consistent, competetive delivery of their guidance. This Monday will be the first indication of how things are going with Q1. This will be the first quarter run as the newly combined company. I expect things to be going reasonably well with everything except Lamaque.
I don't believe Lamaque will be shown to meet anywhere near guidance. However, if the reasons for this are clearly articulated (i.e. 'typical' ramp-up type issues that have been shown to be corrected - hi-lift - ) then you should see this stock jump a little as speculators begin to take some interest. It will take at least 2-3 further quarters of meeting guidance to make street investment take notice.
There's a heck of alot of uncertainty between now and then. The current SP, based on public disclosures, is absurdly low. Lamaque could shut its doors tomorrow and we should still be double what we are now. BTW, I've seen such a wide range of buyers and sellers over the last while, that I tend to discount the notion that there is someone with access to undisclosed and material information.
