This is a good post snezzer. here is some of it...
If a person were to make subtle allegations like this it would lead me to wonder what their motivations were. I might, for example, wonder if the person had previously lost money like I have. Noront (NOT), as an example, was awful to my portfolio in the end (or rather... the way I played it was awful). I might conclude that a person like this perhaps was truly THAT jaded and was actually just "being careful" with his/her money. Maybe he or she would literally be the most untrusting investor on the planet. If so, fine. Great. That would actually be a good thing. But I would want to warn a person like this to be careful with their insinuations. For realz. Things like that can get out of hand. On the flip-side, a person like this might have more nefarious intentions. Perhaps posting negative comments (alleging lying) could be the result of some toddlerish fight between 2 junior companies in the same market. I dunno, say like ZEN and CCB, for example. My message to any person like this would be:
If you are refering to myself or to some others who have posted similar "warnings", I can only spaeak for myself....
Sorry that you lost money on NOT, that was actually one of my (few) winners.
Yes we have all lost money in the markets and if we are smart we learn from our mistakes. Like yourself I have made the mistake of falling in love with a stock. For investors who have not been in the game a long as snezzer and myself, you may not yet recognize when you are "under the spell" of a company.
Of course we all want to make money and so when we think we have a winner we can easily wish so hard for it to succeed that we actually fail to question the company statements and we fail to accurately assess the risks we are taking.
This is MUCH harder to do than to say. But after you get burned a few times it hurts so much that you start to question your own competancy at assessing these companies. Just to put this into perspective, I have squandered millions of $$$$ in the markets over the years.
Do we have to take risks if we are invested in these junior mining companies...absolutely. Just as in life, without risk there is very little reward. However in the market it needs to be a calculated risk and you need to be constantly asking yourself the tough questions and probing for the answers. You need to be acutely aware of the indicators of possible negative issues.
One thing I have learned the hard way is that Companies trump up the good news and downplay the bad news. This is an understatement. Companies (not all) go to extreme lengths to hide any negative issues. One has to become adept at reading between the lines. They write their NR's in such a way as to make a negative situation sound like a positive or they simply don't report it...which can be an offence but the regulators are too busy to notice.
So you say like ZEN & CCB for example....
There are warning signs for both....
CCB has no proven or reported resource. For ZEN the long delay in the PEA should be something that any investor should question.
Should I be embarrased to say this. Absolutely not. I would be remiss if I didn't.
