VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Dec 14, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX News Network) --
Zinccorp Resources Inc (TSX VENTURE: ZN) (the 'Company') is pleased to announce it has received assay results from 122 rock samples and 4 silt samples collected during a 20-day work program at the Michelle Project in north-central Yukon Territory. Previous exploration at the Michelle Property has revealed zinc, lead, silver and gallium mineralization in dominantly carbonate form (with minor lead sulphide) over an area measuring roughly 12 kilometres by 6 kilometres.

"The Company's 2009 exploration efforts have resulted in the expansion of a number of zones as well as the discovery of some extremely high-grade material. Information gathered from these results will assist in the planning of our 2010 exploration program as we continue to advance the property," comments Company President, Richard Hughes. "We are especially interested in the high gallium levels in the samples taken as this rare metal could play a major role in the overall viability of the project."
The greatest success from the 2009 program was encountered to the west of the Nanny Zone, where newly discovered mineralization located 300m to the northwest assayed 22 g/t silver, 3.9% lead and 41.5% zinc. 600m northwest of the known mineralization a sample returned 1300 g/t silver, 30.3% lead, 27.2% zinc and 1090 g/t gallium. A hand trench dug along the ridge crest above this sample returned a composite assay from three continuous chip samples of outcrop and subcrop of 30 g/t silver, 1.8% lead and 4.3% zinc over 6.0m. Some samples from this area contain relict galena, in addition to smithsonite and cerussite (zinc and lead carbonates), and minor traces of fluorite. The samples collected in 2009 extend the Nanny Zone about 700m to the west, and 100m to the east, for a total length of about 1200 metres.
One of the objectives of the 2009 sampling program was to confirm and expand the Pinpoint, Civic and Nanny Zones, all discovered in 2008. A sample collected about 400m east of the Pinpoint Zone in an area of anomalous soil geochemistry returned 192 g/t silver, 11.2% lead and 2.3% zinc. This sample is on trend with the Dynasty showing, about 800m further east, and may indicate a link between these zones. Sampling at the Civic zone confirmed and expanded the known mineralization.
The Lac Rob Zone was successfully traced approximately 100m further northward into the Dawson Mining district, and returned the highest assay result to date from this zone, 9.4% zinc. At the OT Zone, the most north-westerly of the zones discovered so far, additional mineralized float rock was discovered approximately 250m southwest of the known mineralization. This sample returned 3 g/t silver, 1.9% lead and 2.3% zinc.
A large volume of weakly mineralized dolomite breccia is present in the areas examined in 2009 at the Michelle Project. While not economically important, these structures indicate the presence of very large mineralizing systems that connect the higher grade zones identified by high grade samples.
Additional fieldwork was conducted on the southern part of the property in September. Results from this work will be reported as soon as verification of analytical data is completed.
