Because they manage the data through physical blueprint.....IMO....they can manage like data across different storage media.

By that....what I mean....Flash is made up of  different erase block sets.

They have the ability to manage like or related data across all blocks....I'm considering it to have the ability to manage like or related data across multiple media ....flash....HDD....etc.

In others words....a data segment in one flash...and a segment in another....as long as the channel is open between the two...they can bring back the complete segment.
