I agree that validation is important, but if that validation means that a Samsung can come to us and say "OK, we admit we are infringing on 774 but you settled with XXX for less than a million and you want "HOW MUCH" from us......No way

DM is on CONTINGENCY....I say that with all the shouting I can muster with CAPITAL LETTERS.....They are in our lives to MAKE MONEY, BIG MONEY.....They do not take contingencies, based on their own words, unless they determine they have a 75% chance of success.

Is settling for a low sum just to validate good or bad for their bottom line......I say DM would not be close to this infringement case if they determined the settlements would only be 1 or 2 or 5 or even 10 million dollars.

There are very big fish out here that are part of the 180 that 10 or 20 million is chump change. If that's all they felt they had to pay they would be knocking down the door at DM just to "flick this fly off their shoulder".
