I agree with You Jefother,

I can't help but think that Nikon may have just been the first to file settlement intentions among the remaining companies that have agreed to collective settlement negotiations. It's either that or they broke away from the pack.

I believe it was just Dec. 2 the remaining infringers agreed to collective settlement negotiations. Is the Nikon filing a harbinger of additional settlements? My take is that it is more likely an indication of a collective settlement than it is that Nikon agreed to break away from the process. We'll see in the next few days.
