The legal types will do a better job than my view/understanding of this, but XL will allow EDIG to use patents in effect free of cash output, and open up the opportunity to develope new products.

Over the long haul, a smaller one time cash settlement and obtaining an XL deal helps to create a new business model and have sustained revs from sales, when the time comes that the settlement bucks are thru coming in, and that day will come even if it takes years.

Minister, LL and SS can add to this I'm sure, but this is it in a nut shell from a non-legal type.
