"Casio obtained a license and release on all e.Digital foreign and domestic patent rights, including the Company’s Flash-R™ patent portfolio, and e.Digital obtained a license and release on any Casio patents that cover e.Digital’s current product line."

It could simply mean that e.Digital obtained a release on any Casio patents that cover e.Digital's current product line, which means that e.Digital is free to use any of Casio's patents at this time for its current products (releasing any claims of implied past e.Digital infringement of Casio's IP, existing, or not), but not specifically limited to only e.Digital's current product line.

Simply put, IF e.Digital 'infringed' on Casio in the past, Casio has released e.Digital from future liability for any of e.Digital's current product line.

Doesn't say anything about e.Digital being prohibited from using any of the patents or technology included in the CLA for future products... it just says that Casio has granted a license and release for any potential past infringement by e.Digital (doubt any at all ever existed though, it's just DM being extra careful to dot all the eyes and cross all the tees for an airtight agreement so e.Digital won't find themselves being served by Casio in the future for any potential past 'transgression' in current e.Digital products).

That DM crew is smart.
