The differences of memory matrix usage did not come along until 445 was published in 1998.....and the name change to the company.

The news to the investing public in general did not highlight the differences between Intel and it's faction vs. what the Asians were doing.

I would say it wasn't until about 2005 before the news media started making the connection and presenting NOR and NAND news to investors....about the time Intel/Micron entered the NAND arena.
