what I'm understanding is

1. e.Digital can only introduce different claims in the future

2. Samsung would have to defend with different infringement counter claims or as you note..."NON-INFRINGMENT CLAIMS ARE BANNED, NOW AND FOR THE FUTURE..."

3. Samsungs claims of INVALIDITY are still alive and can be used.

I'm trying to figure out where the blow connects for DM?

The only thing I could equate to the above , there was a strategy on DM's part in supplying sacrificial claims....that inadverantly drew out more defence claims that could not be used in the future.
