It's my opinion (and it ain't humble) these X-licensing agreements are essentially worthless to EDIG. What will they do with them...put them in a pile and dance naked around them? If this settlement leans heavily on the X-licensing side, I'm gonna be real ticked off.
Think about it. Edig isn't the exactly known for its success in developing and marketing products at the retail level. That's what all these other companies do with all this IP that EDIG has bargained for. How could they possibly compete with those same giants who have used that technology for years? What is EDIG going to build to compete? Obviously nothing. If anything, it would have to be something profoundly different than the existing toys. Also, think of the irony....every time EDIG licenses its IP to another company, it increases its competition. I know....I know ...if you can't use it, sell it. :>)
Maybe EDIG has a brilliant engineer who can put that stuff to use and come up with a novel product, otherwise, I'd trade the X-licensing IP for a six pack. I got first dibs.
