Columbus Day Holiday, October 12, 2009


Monday, October 12, 2009, is a Federal/Bank holiday in observance of Columbus Day. Some Mutual Funds will not be trading on Monday October 12, 2009.

Due to the Columbus Day Holiday observance on Monday, October 12, 2009:

  • Equity orders placed between Wednesday, October 7, and Friday, October 9, will settle as follows: Trade DateSettlement Date
    Wednesday, October 7, 2009 Tuesday, October 13, 2009
    Thursday, October 8, 2009 Wednesday, October 14, 2009
    Friday, October 9, 2009 Thursday, October 15, 2009
    Monday, October 12, 2009 Thursday, October 15, 2009
  • The Canadian markets are closed on Monday, October 12, 2009 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday in Canada. GTC orders placed after the close of the US Market on Friday, October 9, 2009, will route to the Canadian exchanges on Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Day orders for Canadian listed securities placed after the close of business on October 9, 2009, for October 12, 2009, will be cancelled out at the end of the day on October 12, 2009. Dually listed Canadian stocks that trade in the U.S. markets will trade during U.S. market hours on October 12, 2009.   • Option orders placed on Friday, October 9, 2009, will settle on Tuesday, October 13, 2009.
  • Due to the Treasury closure, Government Bonds will not trade on Monday, October 12, 2009.
  • Use caution when placing Mutual Fund trade orders. Although most funds will trade on Monday, October 12, 2009, some fund companies will not be open to accept purchases or redemptions. In this instance, your trade order will be executed at the next calculated price.
  • Requests to move money (Moneylink, wire transfers, check requests and IRA distributions) received after cut-off time on Friday, October 9, 2009, will not be processed until Tuesday, October 13, 2009.
