As far as shareholder value, a dividend has little value and no real effect on the share price. Maybe after they have a few hundred million in the cash account.
A share buyback would help the eps and would also increase the pps. It's a matter of how effective they will be with managing the cash inflow. They must be aggressive in future partnerships, new product development, acquisitions, etc., all of which should impact any decision concerning a share buyback.
Shareholders are interested in share price and future growth which should determine future share price. The acid test for a return on investment.
