Attorneys for both sides will come and go. Some are use for general purposes,others are used for a particular function or so called expertise. One can not assume that anyone is close to settlement.
The status conference is just that. Both sides are required to be there in some matter. At that point the judge will hear if any side has issues that either side has failed to produce documents, persons of interest and to hear any agreements that both sides have come to. If one side has failed to produce, the judge may postpone the 28th date, may order one side to compel with his directive etc. etc. These conferences are not very long in the scheme of things.
At this point, there has not been any indication of any blinking by either side.
