SAN FRANCISCO, January 11, 2011—Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that Laurie H. van Löben Sels has joined the firm's growing Intellectual Property Practice Group as special counsel in its San Francisco office. She joins the firm from Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP.
Ms. van Löben Sels practices in the area of intellectual property law, with a focus on the protection and enforcement of trademarks and trade dress, including the investigation, litigation and settlement of disputes in federal court and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. She assists brand owners in developing global brand-protection strategies, including anticounterfeiting efforts such as the seizure of counterfeit goods by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Ms. van Löben Sels also advises clients concerning copyrights, Internet domain names, design patents, trade secrets, unfair competition and the licensing of intellectual properties. Her clients encompass a wide range of industries, including high-end consumer electronics, luxury goods, personal-care products, food, wine, fashion, entertainment and social media.
