You said "So all that disruption yesterday by a certain poster about Cocumelli's options being expired was WRONG WRONG WRONG."...

The ANSWER is YES,YES, YES...

I always wondered why some, who appear to be erudite and learned, when they make staements like Cucumelli's options had expired without at least checking their FACTS as to the truthfullness of what they say?!...

Any one with some rudimentary knowledge of corporate structure should know that OPTIONS are fringe benefits given to employees to entice them to stay on. They vest at certain intervals of time aimed at rewarding a hard working employee with stock shares, in addition to what they earn as salary, and once vested they do not expire....

Once the options vest, they can be exercised by an employee during specified time windows, and such employee can cash out his stock. If the employee does not excercise his option and sell the stock he can not be penalized by loosing his options?. Such a harsh result is contrary to the very purpose of rewarding an employee.

The strict time windows when stocks can be sold by employees is regulated by SEC RULES, aimed at creation of stabibilty in the stock of the company, discouraging a group sale of stock by insiders, causing a crisis in the company stock...
