It seems, if we take Joe's point at face value and there is no reason to doubt it, that some big shareholder changes over his/her portfolio and also that the market makers buy the stock. If this the case, then the obvious question is why the market makers do not reduce the price they buy it? Under normal circumstances, the price of the stock should have gone down substantially.
