I totally agree. Many of these inventions are amazing that someone figured out how to do it, but it has only rare instances of it being a necessity and is more a conversation piece. I believe many people use the devices as a social crutch and hide behind the guise of being connected so as not to have to communicate one on one. I went to a local hamburger place a while ago to get some food to go and saw something that took me aback while I was waiting for the food. Table of four, apparently Mom, Dad, Son, and Daughter--all had food in front of them--all had their smart phones out and were individually engaged with their own device--I did not notice any conversation. Wonderful.
