As of now, for the news I have read, not one of them has established any resemblance to a combination of CE device and stored data server processing issue.
For those that are going to process everything on the CE device....good luck.
With that, for the power concerns for the collection of data("deepest level or how should I state this") e.Digital, orchestrating its Micro-controller methods, data management methods, I/O methods for transmission of data to memory or network has power saving issues to make that happen without being overly detrimental to the batteries on the CE device. It also offers a fault tolerance consideration in managing important data if needed.
Trying to additionally process that collected data on the device will be detrimental to the power resource. What e.Digital has patented in that realm is important, at what point it becomes important to them or us...I have no idea. I guess it depends on how long collected data is stored and processed and what other companies will do with it.
