"Gimbal IMO just scatches the surface."
If the Qualcomm patents we have been following are part of Gimbal....they are trying, with the patent application, to consolidate and coordinate the prior art considerations noted in prosecution into one package for relational image argumentation concepts. The phone(or any device) sees all. They want an advanced image recognition platform that can interface a data base(server or on the CE device).
The above, IMO, fully processed on a phone(CE device) would be limited for relational data comparisons....you just can't carry that kind of limitless data on a phone.
Seems to me the concept needs some spiffy network data transmission concepts.
Anyway, what Qcomm is after for image....e.Digital, for obvious reasons, consider advanced audio(listening), with that, they have the server data base concept covered(which is not prior art in the Qcomm prosecution and IMO should be)....for relational data, or for what other concepts can be considered for that type data.
Perhaps the new legal team will point the data base issue out with regard to the Qcomm prosecution history....As there are claim terms noting server and data base issues in Qcomms attempt at image.
