Many obervers of markets and economics agree that the US stock market is seriously overblown, setting up for a fall, and consequential recession.
When the US enters recession, investments most often move into commodities in anticipation of recovery, as these will be the first requirements for improved manufacturing coming out of a decline.
The dollar, too, is significantly overblown. As the dollar falls, prices of commodities rise. That's an absolute for US investors.
Meanwhile, there is glaring and growing under investment in mining.
This all means that a further slowing of the US economy will set off renewed demand for copper, and other metals, as well as for investment in exploration projects..., that when things turn for this sector, they will turn very strongly higher, and perhaps in a way not seen in generations.
None of this means good times ahead for Americans in general. Pity the next President!
