Close or not, I fear that whatever respect for law and order is remaining in this country may be gone anyway. Those who would destroy the system have learned that violence in the name of their causes will be tolerated, if not catered to in various ways.
These groups operate under their belief that to transform a society you must destroy it first. They begin by demeaning and desecrating national icons, such as we have been witnessing (including attacks of sculptures and Capitalist symbols like high-end shopping centers). Whether complaints about these symbols are justifiable or not, the scale and speed of growth in the trend are quite concerning, especially in the face of rising first-time gun purchases in volumes never seen.
Sadly, I have to add that social instability like this benefits gold prices. That is because we are talking about the richest and thought-to-be most stable economy on earth. Undermining that stability pushes gold prices.
