Message: DEAL/NO DEAL

I agree that the EPA will be much more active and assertive. I just think its attention will mostly diverted elsewhere- as I mentioned- coal and gas and oil, as well as reversing other air quality policies- i.e.  car emission standards and global warming such as CO2 and methane emissions, etc. I think that is a lot to keep them busy- all those things linked by air quality and global warming concerns. Mineral mining really doesn't directly- although I guess indirectly in some small ways- trucks carrying ore for example- fall into those categories. And copper mining, in particular, will be seen as part of advancing the electric economy- which is an environmental plus. I guess you could import copper- but why would they want to when mining it with minimal environmental- at least atmospheric- cost would be a way of advancing the economy and creating jobs- which they will want and need to do.

I guess we will see if the investment community agrees or not. So far- it looks like they are still interested in making deals- except at Hay Mountain.
