I think the loss of share voting rights is only regarding "Super Shares," or "Class A," as they may be called.  Those are designed only to thwart an unwanted takeover attempt, should there be one.  Otherwise, they are meaningless, at least to my understanding.

I believe BG created them over fears that his personal goals regarding control of the company could be lost.  Indeed, a few of us hinted on this forum that we were considering a hostile bid for the company. 

So, while the Super Shares remain, BG looks to have lost the control he sought and, in my opinion, the exploration mining hero status he desired.
