Combining Classic Mineral Exploration with State of the Art Technology
This is somewhat OT, but please allow me to expand on my previous post to benefit those who may not grasp my meaning.
1) As many understand, capital gains taxes create double taxation. A corporation pays income tax, and shareholders bear the cost. So, paying a tax when selling shares becomes double taxation, and it is morally wrong, even if it is legal.
2) As almost every shareholder knows, being confronted with capital gains taxes discourages many shareholders from selling when perhaps they should. It can also seriously complicate one's tax status and reporting obligations.
3) Eliminating capital gains taxes would free millions of taxpayers, including institutional ones, from their concerns about these taxes and bring about billions of new transactions. Some of these proceeds would be spent into the retail market, and some would go into new investments, both of which would expand our economy in a healthy way, driving down interest rates and eventually increasing government proceeds.
By the way, I understand that some in Congress are discussing a National Sales Tax that would replace most other forms of taxes, especially income taxes. Those with low incomes would get an annual rebate on the sales tax. Everyone else would be taxed on spending, not earnings. As much as I like it, I can't see this passing or even getting to the House floor for discussion - too many benefiting from the status quo.
BACK ON TOPIC -
Do we have a trend here? Are we down on Fridays and up on Mondays? If so, a positive progress report could change that, at least for a while.
News soon, in my opinion.
