CORPORATE PROFILE
OVERIEW:
Portrush Petroleum is a rapidly growing oil and natural gas production company that is focused on low risk, high reward oil and gas exploration and production in North America. The company has no long-term debt and has credits and cash on hand for additional drilling or acquisitions. Portrush’s mandate is to become a mid-range oil and gas producer. The Company’s core producing properties are in the Michigan Basin, Michigan and the Gulf Coast, Texas
The Company invests in oil and gas related operations; acquires interests in properties to determine the existence, location, extent and quality of the oil and gas resources located on the properties; and will drill, complete and participate in the operation of or development of oil and gas wells and related operations.
CURRENT PROJECTS:
1. The Mission River Project in Texas is a joint venture with the McAlester Fuel Company. Portrush has a 10% fully paid working interest. The Texas play is a multi-zone exploration project to test for shallow oil and gas reserves and deeper by-passed oil and gas. Nine wells are currently producing from depths between 2,000 and 8,500 ft. Current production from the field is approx. 2.5 million cubic feet of gas and 90 barrels of condensate per day. A proposal to drill additional deep tests is currently being evaluated.
2. The Lenox project is focused on pinnacle reefs located in the Michigan Basin and currently has two producing oil wells. The Company is committed to the drilling of a third well within the first half of 2006. The project is situated in the Lenox area, Macomb County, southeastern Michigan approximately 50 miles north of the city of Detroit, Michigan.
Portrush has a 22.5% working interest in the Lenox project
INDUSTRY SECTOR OVERVIEW:
Oil and natural gas prices in North America have reached unprecedented levels, with the longer term outlook for continued relatively strong demand and higher prices remaining strong.
Natural gas demand in the US, which accounts for over 90% of the continents gas consumption, is expected to grow at over 1.8% annually, from approximately 22 trillion cubic feet (‘tcf’) in 2000 to about 24 tcf in 2005 and 31 tcf in 2020. Growth in Canada is expected to be even stronger, averaging over 2.5% a year, driven by growing demand for gas for electricity generation, particularly in the principal consuming province of Ontario.
COMPANY GROWTH STRATEGY:
Portrush’s mission is to participate in full cycle exploration for and development of North American oil and natural gas reserves. Portrush President and CEO, Martin Cotter, is a professional engineer with extensive experience in the Canadian Oil and Gas Industry. The functions of the executive team are to draw on and direct the technical resources of joint venture partners to ensure that Portrush shareholders` funds are invested to maximize value. The Corporations overall objective is to see that all dollars raised go directly into the ground rather than into corporate overhead
In order for the Company to grow its asset base, management will continue to look at suitable development acquisitions. The Company intends to continue to employ the services of professional management for continued growth and development.
Mr. Wesley Franklin is the chief Geologist for the McAlester Fuel Company and is a director of Portrush Petroleum Corporation. Mr. Franklin was formerly Chief Geologist with Tenneco.
