Dave Palmer is building a company, plain and simple.
Does he watch the share price daily like many of us do? I wouldn't think so. I have a good idea at what energies must be expended by him on a daily basis as president because I used to be a director of a publicly traded natural resource company. The requirements on a president are enormous.
Dave is guiding the shareholders with his experience, calling on the experience of trusted people and dealing with what some have, I believe, said is the biggest mineral discovery in Canada in the last 10 years. With all the responsibilities that are required of our president during these times, I wonder if he is getting enough rest as he courageously represents our interests.
Many big money interests and accomplished mining men have joined in this area play. Dave might not be as experienced as some of these big mining figures but I do believe he is quite sensible, knowing what he knows and more importantly, knowing what he doesn't know. He impresses me as a man who consistently makes calculated and methodical decisions that end up in the favor of the shareholders.
Remember, Dave will always be constrained by regulators on what he can and can not say as well as by PRB's board. So even if he feels it's justified in informing shareholders just to keep them more abreast, he may not be able to supply important specific information now.
IMHO, I believe we should just let the man do his job and when the time is appropriate we will be informed. Believe me, all the concerns and questions posed on this board have been considered by Mr. Palmer. Maybe, the last NR could have worded differently. I know it left many, including myself, with some questions but maybe it was written that way for a reason. I'm sure the board reviewed it before the release.
Some feel that Dave is, maybe, going backwards in redirecting the contracted drill. I remember years ago when I was a fullback that there were many times that I had to go laterally or even backwards in attaining my objective of advancemen in avoiding obstacles.
In Dave's case, I'm sure it's more like a complicated chess game.
Go Dave!! Go Probe!!
