You should not seek financial advise on a bulletin board.  No offence to Gaapguy, I'm sure he's very knowledgable and he answered your questions adequately.  However without being able to see the whole picture (ie Your entire financial situation) it's impossible for anyone to tell you what to do with respect to taking income from the right places at the right times to minimuze taxes going forward.
