Good questions & info today about voting. Reminds me of all the conversation not to long ago about margin accounts & shorting stocks. I know I changed my accounts around from margin back to trading. We do learn so much from so many different posters on this board.
Anyway, voting, I called TD after I read the initial questions this morning. I will call at least 2 more times and talk to different reps, same as I did for margin info. Basically, you'll receive notification of the vote, however we all know situations like this there is always many that do not vote. As he said there are so many options the 2 companies can put in place for the non voters (example the vote will default with the recommendation of management) but, he said never can TD cast or have influence of my vote, or default any such way the brokerage recommends.
Like I said, I will call a couple more times this week. Personally, I am very comfortable if a non vote is defaulted to our Management's decision. I am also extremely comfortable meeting all the shareholders that I did in Vancouver at the AGM. As we always say, this is an extremely tightly held stock, and a low ball offer will not fly, however, it's always a very good idea for everyone to have a sell plan, and take a little off the table (IMO)
