Hi Mrs C,
The dark pool was a legitimate discussion IMO. You may be right that it belonged on off topic. But its apparent today that we, the retail investor, are now seeing the real picture today where trades are being recorded and revealed to the public. Yesterday there were trades linked to the black pool that we couldn,t see. Today, we are able to see this, and the nice buys are indicative of this. It is not right to keep this transparency from the public eye when it starts to interfer with the sp, usaully its behind the curtain and doesn,t effect the tsx sp. What was going on was that it was putting too much pressure on the stock and when it becomes apparent that it is there, the question that arises is that the protection of the retail invester may be at risk making the retail investor to make decisions based on deception. When you enter this region of inforcement and regulation, it is addressed with the retail investors/market interests in mind. You get into another can of worms.
IMO
