"the CEO is not at all responsible for the investment choices of shareholders."

Agreed, provided their decision was not as a result of information disseminated by a company, that was in some way defficient.

Their money management is not the responsibility of the company.

The CEO is responsible for running the company in a prudent and honest manner for the benefit of the shareholders, who employ her, and she has a fiduciary duty of care towards them.

The question is did management spend the money prudently?

Would people have invested if they knew the percentage of funds that would be spent on travel and promotion?

Would people have considered the use of private jets prudent?

Or, had people been aware, would they have raised early red flags, and prevented losses later?

"
Sure the company (SLI), like all companies put out information regarding the company. How shareholders interpreted that information is soely thier responsability."

They have a duty and obligation to make announcements and news releases in a claear, honest and accurate manner.

They were well aware of how their news releases were being interpreted, and could easily have put out a clarifying statement, or simply put it onto their website.

There was plenty of dialogue between the company and private investors at the time, so there is no excuse for not realising that information the company had put into the public domain had been mis interpreted, and correcting it.

How many times did you hear "Jeff said this, or Jeff said that" on the BB's?

So, unless the company commited fraud the buck stops with the investor. BUT, you already know that don;t you aim?

No, the buck stops with the CEO running the company, period!

The CEO was well aware of what was occurring, and what was posted on BB's, and she has taken several legal actions over alleged defamatory posts made about her!

She is responsible for the information being disseminated by her directors and employees.

If information disseminated by the company was being misunderstood, then a correcting or clarifying news release should have been issued.

15 years at the helm, the buck stops with Lori, the CEO and President of the company!
