Our share price is currently undervalued because of the political risk of government confiscation of a large part of the profits. If the law is eventually more reasonable we should at least double from here.
however in my opinion if they pass a law that takes 70% above a certain level (unless they set that bar very high) it will be a disaster for us shareholders.
I went through this before in Mongolia. I owned QGX at the time they announced their windfall tax and even though QGX was mostly coal which was exempted it lost more than half its value.
I must admit I am concerned but hopeful that eventually the Ecuadorian government sees this as well. If they want a mining industry this is the wrong way to go.
