Why, if I may ask?

Because only a small handful of posters (myself included) publically indicated their willingness on this board ("Aye, Aye (eom)") to make a financial contribution towards any legal costs? This was in response to Rabidbeaver's initial suggestion/request on August 22nd. If I remember correctly, the initial target for this fundraising was $20,000. There were very few takers....
