I have never spoken with Tom personally. My opinions about Tom were formed in the 1990s when he managed his other fund. Articles were written about him at that time and they indicated that he was both an excellent fund manager and a highly respected person.

I followed a number of investing professionals very closely, but the two that I followed most closely were Francis Chou, whose fund had the best long term results since its inception, and Tom's fund, over a shorter period of about 10 years. I did get a chance to talk with Francis but regrettably, I didn't get a chance to talk with Tom.
