Very simply, the author of the article is wrong. She by virtue of stating such, is a proponent of global warming. With increasing consistency, this argument has come under increasing scrtuiny as beng inacurate. To state such as fact belies ignorance of the still ongoing debate.
As for market diversification, I have long agreed that such is a laudable ambition, so as to wean Canada off US dependence on the US market. However, the world supply of oil will become more rapidly than most think extremely constrained. What most fail to comprehend is how rapidly world oil production will be eclipsed by demand. Fully 80% of the worlds population is rapidly industializing and becoming more desirous of consumer products, which by virtue of improving incomes, will become rapidly more attainable.
The demand for oil will be there. The only question of concern for those here, is will Connacher be a participant in these megatrends?
